Customers seldom see manufacturing employees at MESA so you probably aren’t familiar with all the planning, teamwork, and effort it takes to provide materials when, where and how you want them. The unsung folks at MESA are the manufacturing employees who comprise over 40% of our total employees.

While “On-time Shipments” and “3-day Shipments” are two key corporate performance measures, they are focused in the manufacturing area more than other areas. Although these measures could clearly be affected by activities outside the manufacturing area, they are primarily controlled and monitored by the manufacturing group. The manufacturing group also has additional metrics such as “Order Turn Around Time”. This is a manufacturing specific measure that links directly to the “On-time Shipments” and “3-day Shipments” measures. All manufacturing employees understand the importance of meeting MESA performance goals.

A recent example demonstrates that customer service is understood throughout the MESA organization, particularly in the manufacturing area A long-time contractor customer placed an emergency order on a Wednesday with a requirement that the material be shipped the next day. The required material was not off-the-shelf material but material that required assembly. Normal turnaround time for this type order is 4 – 5 days. Our manufacturing group assembled the anodes, completed packaging, made special shipping arrangements and shipped the order in less than 24 hours.

While we can’t promise that type of response every time, we do promise that we will make every effort to meet your requirements “all the time”. There should be no argument that MESA manufacturing employees live by our corporate customer service philosophy that a job isn’t done until MESA has a satisfied customer.
