MESA Corrosion Control, Inc. was incorporated in El Paso, Texas in l979. The
focus of the company was engineering and technical services in the field of
cathodic protection. A relocation of the company to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1980
created opportunity for expansion in Midwestern U.S. markets.
In the early 1980’s, the company began offering materials and installation services in addition to technical services. Through relationships established with several major pipeline clients in the Midwest and expanded construction capabilities, the MESA client base increased dramatically. These relationships, along with several large projects, enabled MESA to maintain a steady profitable growth through a depressed period in the industry. In l986, a branch office was opened in Tallahassee, Florida.
In l984, MESA Products, Inc. was formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma to sell corrosion instruments, meters, tools and supplies and to function as a supplier to MESA Corrosion Control. Beginning in l985, the MESA Products focus was expanded to include a complete line of corrosion control products including sacrificial anodes, impressed current anodes and accessories.
The rapid rate of growth experienced by MESA products during the 80’s enabled the company to be included in INC. magazine’s l989 list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the United States. Currently, MESA Products supplies materials to over 1000 customers, including pipeline operators, production companies, contractors, local utility companies, resellers and municipalities.
In l989 MESA purchased the assets of AGRA Equipment Company. The AGRA product line consisting primarily of cathodic protection instruments and test equipment was fully integrated into the MESA organization; however, the AGRA name continues to be used for marketing purposes.
MESA Products opened a Houston branch office in l997 to service the Gulf Coast region of the United States. The focus of this office is to market cathodic protection materials to contractors and end-users. This office also manages MESA’s international business.
MESA opened a Los Angeles office in 2005 to service the materials market on the West Coast.

Training of employees is well-defined within the MESA structure. A complete
matrix of training requirements is maintained for every employee at all job
levels. Training encompasses technical, safety related, governmental required
training, computer, as well as company specific such as management training
for managers.
MESA training requirements extend
beyond the minimum requirements of regulatory entities such as OSHA and DOT.
Over 75% of MESA field employees have completed training to meet the Operator
Qualification Rule issued by DOT. This high percentage insures that MESA will
put no customers at risk because of lack of compliance to the OQ Rule.

Company headquarters are housed in an office/warehouse facility located in the
central part of Tulsa. The facility was purchased in l994 and custom designed
for efficient manufacturing. There are five buildings on the approximately 5-acre
site having a combined space under roof of approximately 35,000 square feet.
In 2003, MESA added a field training site in Tulsa. The facility includes a
network of underground piping and tanks that simulate a wide variety of field
situations. MESA hosts NACE CP-1 and CP-2 classes at the facility.

The Houston office is housed in a 4000 square foot office/warehouse located near George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Product inventory is maintained at this facility to facilitate local deliveries in the Gulf Coast area.

MESA maintains a large inventory of standard manufactured items. Most off-the-shelf
items are shipped within one day of receipt of order. Fabricated items including
anodes and metallurgical coke breeze are typically shipped within five days
of receipt of an order. One aspect of the MESA Value Promise (MVP) is a performance
objective of shipping 75% of all orders within three days.
All manufacturing processes are carried out by qualified operators. The requirements for both process and operator qualification are defined in Quality Procedures and/or Process Control Documents to conform to ISO 9001 requirements. The MESA manufacturing facility in Tulsa has been ISO certified since October 2000.
Delivery of finished product is made
through various carriers which can include MESA vehicles, customer pick-up or
third-party carriers. Selection of carriers is based on experience and customer
requirements. Product is delivered in accordance with customer specifications.
Most orders are shipped from the Tulsa manufacturing facility; however, direct
shipping from a supplier can be arranged for distributed items.
