Southeast Region Operations Manager

Jim entered the corrosion field in 1971 as a Corrosion Technician for a consulting firm in Miami, Florida. After four years, he resumed his education and received a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1979. From 1979 to 1981, he worked for Texaco as a Corrosion Engineer at the Port Arthur, Texas refinery.

In 1981, Jim joined MESA as the Area Manager in the Midland, Texas area. He built a loyal customer base in this area before moving to Florida in 1985. Through his efforts, MESA has developed a solid customer following in the Southeast. Jim manages all technical service and construction operations in this region, as well as marketing cathodic protection materials.

He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and a NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist. He is an Instructor for the Appalachian Underground Corrosion Short Course in Morgantown, WV. Jim served as Trustee for the Florida Panhandle Section of NACE and was the Eastern Area Conference Chairman in 1995 and 1998. He currently serves on the Awards and Exhibits Committees of NACE International.
