Our History
MESA Corrosion Control, Inc. was incorporated in El Paso, Texas in l979. The focus of the company was engineering and technical services in the field of cathodic protection. A relocation of the company to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1980 created opportunity for expansion in Midwestern U.S. markets. In the early 1980's, the company began offering materials and installation services in addition to technical services. Through relationships established with several major pipeline clients in the Midwest and expanded construction capabilities, the MESA client base increased dramatically. These relationships, along with several large projects, enabled MESA to maintain a steady profitable growth through a depressed period in the industry.
In l984, MESA Products, Inc. was formed in Tulsa to sell corrosion instruments, meters, tools, and supplies and to function as a supplier to MESA Corrosion Control. Beginning in l985, the MESA Products, Inc. focus was expanded to include a complete line of corrosion control products, including sacrificial anodes, impressed current anodes and accessories. In l986, MESA opened its first branch in Tallahassee, Florida. The rapid rate of growth experienced by MESA Products, Inc. during the 1980's enabled the company to be included in INC. magazine's l989 list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the United States. Currently, MESA supplies materials to over 1000 customers, including pipeline operators, production companies, contractors, local utility companies, resellers and municipalities.
In l989, MESA purchased the assets of AGRA Equipment Company. The AGRA product line, consisting primarily of cathodic protection instruments and test equipment, was fully integrated into the MESA organization.
MESA opened a Houston, Texas branch in l997 to service the Gulf Coast region of the United States. This office also manages MESA's international business. 2005 saw the expansion to the West Coast with offices in Los Angeles, followed by a 5th branch in Ft. Worth, Texas in 2007. The Ohio branch located in Wapakoneta was opened in 2009 to increase our services capabilities and expertise. This Midwest office has a specific emphasis on tanks and terminals, with an overall goal of regional expansion of cathodic protection services into the upper Midwest.

Our Personnel
Training of employees is well-defined within the MESA structure. A complete matrix of training requirements is maintained for every employee at all job levels. Training encompasses technical, safety related, governmental and company specific requirements, such as management training for managers.
Personnel are trained beyond the requirements of regulatory entities such as OSHA and DOT. MESA has the highest percentage of NACE-certified employees compared to any of its major competitors. This high percentage insures that MESA will put no customers at risk because of lack of compliance to the OQ regulations. MESAs Safety Team is always striving to be proactive and continuously improving the OQ process. A full-time Safety Coordinator and OQ Specialist ensures its field employees maintain current Operator Qualifications. Field employees are brought to Tulsa, Oklahoma each January for annual safety training.
Maintaining service and quality is attributable in large part to MESAs dedicated employees. MESA is proud of its low turnover rate and a commitment to training; employee satisfaction at MESA ranks in the top ten percent of U.S. employers, according to industry surveys. With highly trained and committed employees, and a reputation for extraordinary service, quality, and materials, MESA is the ideal provider of comprehensive cathodic protection solutions.
