“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
Vince Lombardi might have had Greg Thomas, Plant Manager for the MESA
Tulsa Plant, in mind when he made that observation.
Greg leads the team that ensures your products are shipped accurately,
safely and promptly. Despite the
fact that Greg has more employees reporting directly to him than any of the
other MESA Management Team, he deals effectively with the daily challenges of
training, quality, hazcom, safety and production schedules.
Greg’s most recent challenge is to lead the MESA effort
to become ISO 9002 certified. He
was appointed as Team Leader in late l999 and has maintained the schedule for
MESA to be certified by the 4th quarter of 2000.
The most notable thing about this additional challenge for Greg is that
he has assumed this monumental effort while handling all his full-time, daily
responsibilities.
Greg said, “ISO 9002 certification is another tool for
MESA to improve our business processes. This
certification will insure we are doing everything possible to continue our high
level of quality and service.”
One would think with all these things going on for Greg, he
wouldn’t have time for anything else. Not
so! About two months ago, Greg
married Cheri, another great member of the MESA family.
Their combined family includes three children – Richard, Rachel and
Cody.
Child labor laws weren’t in effect when Greg started
working for MESA over 14 years ago. He
began his career as a plant laborer then went on to work with a field
construction crew. In recognition
of his dedication and outstanding work ethic, Greg was promoted to Plant Manager
in 1994.
We are fortunate and proud to have Greg Thomas as one of the key members of the MESA team.
