CP DESIGN CENTER
Earlier this year, MESA introduced the CP Design Center on our website. The Design Center puts technical information such as technical articles, corrosion data and application charts just a click away from engineers and technicians needing cathodic protection application help.
One of the major sections of this site are calculators designed to perform standard calculations in cathodic protection applications. We’ve added these standard calculators in addition to links to other calculators including coating, mathematics and geometry to provide even more capabilities.
Because of the overwhelming support and use of The Design Center, we’ve decided to continue expansion of this powerful web-based tool. Groundbed design programs are being developed that will allow users to custom design:
· deep groundbeds
· conventional vertical groundbeds
· horizontal groundbeds.
Users will be able to configure any type of groundbed by:
· anode selection
· anode quantity
· installation geometry
· cable
· coke breeze
Resulting outputs of groundbed capacity, resistance, and life will allow the user to optimize their design and print out design summaries.
Initially, this area of our site will be accessed through a user/password system on a no-fee basis. Ultimately, when we have developed a complete offering of design programs, this will become a fee access or subscription area. Our goal is to have three programs available by the end of 2001.
