Building for the Future
History is built on a series of milestones. MESA has reached another critical milestone in our history.
Since our founding in 1979, we have been fortunate to experience steady growth because of our loyal customers. Growth over the years has required expansion of our facilities and we are now in our fourth location. We moved into our current facility in 1995 with the expectation that no more moves would be necessary. Our site in Tulsa, Oklahoma has enough land that we can accommodate any anticipated future growth.
Fortunately for MESA, we anticipated this need for future growth because our current level of business has stretched our manufacturing capacity. We have run out of both storage and manufacturing space and plans are underway to expand our Tulsa facility. Our plans are to add about 3000 square feet to our manufacturing space and 5000 square feet in covered storage space. Additionally, we will add a larger employee break-room and a training room.
Our plans call for a groundbreaking in late September. The project will be built in three phases with the first phase being the storage facility. The additional manufacturing space will be achieved through an expansion of our main plant building and is planned for late 2001. The final phase consists of the interior remodeling to include a larger employee break-room, training room, and additional inventory storage. Completion of this phase is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2002.
